How I Started

I started my journey in web development over a decade ago, and since then, I’ve worked with countless clients to bring their visions online. While technology evolves quickly, I’ve always believed in blending functionality with creativity — crafting websites that not only look great but also perform well in search engines.

When I’m not coding or designing, I also pursue creative projects in arts and crafts — a passion that inspires my eye for detail and design. I have a small business called ‘Aye Craft Studio’ where I create handcrafted event invitations and unique giveaways.

Back In 2013

My very first website was born in 2013. It wasn’t built on WordPress,  or any CMS—just pure HTML and CSS, with a PHP backend I coded from scratch. No shortcuts, no templates—just raw code and curiosity driving me to bring ideas to life on the web.

That project sparked my passion for design and development, and it’s what set me on the path I’m still exploring today.

I have also developed a few web apps like inventory system and data checking software that were used by my previous company internally back in the day.

</> My WordCamp Journey

Giving Back to WordPress

I had the amazing opportunity to be part of WordCamp Asia as a volunteer. Helping behind the scenes, assisting participants, and supporting the team gave me a whole new appreciation for the effort it takes to make such a big event possible. It felt great to be part of something bigger, knowing that even small tasks contribute to creating an event that brings people together from all over the world.

I’m also proud to be part of the WordCamp Cebu organizing team. Organizing an event in my own local community is special to me because it allows me to give back in a more direct way. I get to work with fellow organizers, plan meaningful activities, and help create a welcoming space where people can share knowledge and connect.

Why I Stay Involved

Being active in the WordPress community has taught me the value of teamwork, generosity, and collaboration. Through volunteering and organizing, I’ve met inspiring people, gained new perspectives, and found a sense of belonging that goes beyond just building websites.

Meeting With Fellow Devs!

One of the highlights of being active in WordCamps is meeting fellow enthusiasts—people who are just as passionate about WordPress, open source, and community as I am. Every conversation, whether quick or in-depth, has taught me something new and reminded me of the power of shared ideas.

I would really love to work for a company that supports causes like these—organizations that value community, open source, and giving back. Being part of WordCamp has shown me how meaningful it is to align with teams that not only build great products but also uplift the people around them.
